Independence Day

We had a quiet Independence Day this year, when compared to last year when we were in Chicago (getting lost, dealing with a heat stroke-like illness with Eric, and a huge heat wave)!  This year we hung out with family during the day.  At night the local aquarium was offering half price ticket after 6:30pm, and then you could sit on their back lawn to watch the local fireworks show.  Good deal!  Less traffic than going to the major venue and you could see them just as well.  Plus, we can never afford to go to the aquarium at regular price.  All in all, it was a nice and relaxed day.  The type of Independence Day I most enjoy.  How thankful I am that our forefathers stood up against tyranny so that I can enjoy such simple freedoms today.
