The (seemingly) Neverending Story...

Hi all,

I'm posting from home! Got in last night. For those that haven't heard, Bright is not with me. It's so stupid really. We got the hard visa (U.S.) but couldn't get the stinkin' transit visa for Amsterdam in time for our Tuesday night flight! Luckily I didn't have to play the "do I extend my time in country" game for a third time, as my friend Romana knew somebody who is flying back to the states on Friday and was excited about the opportunity to escort Bright. So...God worked it out.

Tomorrow morning we leave to drive the 12 hours (including stops) to Louisville, KY, where Bright will arrive at 11:30pm on Friday night. My parents, our kids, and Eric will all be there to welcome Bright home! Then we'll drive back the next day.

I have tons of private emails to respond to from the last 3.5 weeks. Thanks for your patience as I try to settle back into life here in the next few days. I'm hoping for a semi-normal feeling by Monday. AAI families--lots of pics and some fun video to share with you, as well as my thoughts about all of your children!

Okay, I'm going to try to get a bit of sleep before my parents get here at noon and my time to get over the jet lag officially ends and time to prepare for our next (and final!) trip begins.

Love,
Anita

Oh Anita,
I'm so sorry Bright couldn't come home with you, but so glad that it looks like he'll be home Friday. It will be fun that the entire family will meet him at the airport. Sure hope that visa comes in time.

I am so bummed that he didn't come home with you. I've been out of town with no cell or email for 5 days ---- so this was a big surprise to me. I'm glad he'll be home on Friday though. Thank goodness you had a connection.

Aw, I can't believe it got so close and then you had to leave without him. But thank goodness you only have 28 more hours as I comment before he is in your arms for good! I can't wait to follow the posts once he IS HOME!!!
