Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all of my bloggy buddies. The funk of the last month or so seems to have been washed away, now that we are entering into the day that we actually celebrate the birth of my Lord Jesus Christ! We are expected to have a VERY unusual white Christmas here in Tulsa. Big news around here. Makes it feel very magical that it should come on Christmas Eve, and be "just enough" white to enjoy but not too much to hinder family celebrations tomorrow.
Since Sunday we've been "just four" (us and the little kids) while the big kids have been with Grandma and Grandpa B. in Kansas. It has been a neat time with the little ones, but I will be glad when all of us are together again. We've learned to appreciate even more how much the big kids help keep things running around here. And we've also been reminded that the little kids are capable of helping out more than they have in the past.

Our big surprise this year is one we didn't decide on until we were driving back home from Kansas on Sunday. We added a new puppy to the mix. This will be the first (maybe only) time the kids will have a live animal surprise on Christmas. Well, actually Christmas Eve, since they will be home in a few hours! New puppy's name is Layla. She is a German Shepard mix. And she's ornery! She was a country dog. The owner was going to shoot them in the next few days if they weren't taken. So we took her. =-) There are some sad things going on with our beautiful husky, Jed. I don't want to think about that until after Christmas, but we're glad to have Layla to bring joy!

Merry, Merry Christmas!!!! Peace to you! May you feel the love of Jesus Christ wrapped around you like a warm blanket.
