Sugar High!
We had an unexpected weekend at home this Christmas season, so we're making the most of it! We decided that this would sort of be our "community" weekend. We are delivering bags of cookies to all of our neighbors (and a few folks outside of the neighborhood)--in our PJ's! It's fun to have a PJ day at this time of year. Later, we're huddling into the car with hot cocoa and heading out to look at Christmas lights.
We've been making dozens and dozens of cookies (13 dozen so far with about 7 more to go tonight)! Sugar high!
First up were a new recipe for Mint Chocolate Chip Cookies. YUMMO!!! These are an instant hit. Eric says they are almost as addictive as girl scout mint thins. ;-)

The smell HEAVENLY just out of the oven!
They are ust as good when cool as they are when warm, if not better!
Kendi was creative with leftover sugar cookie dough--she made "her" foot.
The first batch of cookies we tried making our own icing. It was a BIT too runny. We are not sugar cookie makers, but were in the mood this year. At least they tasted good!
We got fancy with the second batch, using ready-made cookie icing. It is one of those rare times when the store-bought stuff tasted much better than the homemade stuff!

Eric likes them simple, with sugar on top. The kids and I like the frosted ones, with a teaspoon of cinnamon added to the recipe. I guess it doesn't really matter though, since these will all end up going to other people in the end!
I hope that you all are having a wonderful weekend. Keep warm, celebrate your family, and stand in anticipation of the coming of Christ!

Why? WHY do you have to live so far away!!!
I thought the same thing when I read about your art week! Ach, we could have *SO* much fun if we lived close. We'd need Fabu too, for dancing and singing! ;-)
I bow to your cookie baking genius!!! :) Great job!
