Regulatory Parenting Tidbit: Hugs
Did you know that if you hug someone for 20 seconds it releases oxytocin in the brain? Oxytocin is known as the "cuddle hormone." It's what makes us feel good and loving towards ourselves or someone else. It's there, free for the giving, if we only do things to give it to ourselves (hugs, loving touch, cuddles, tickles, laughing, deep breathes, etc.). What a gift from God!

I needed this reminder. Thanks!
Me too! My kids are now coming up to me and announcing "20 second hug time mommy!" I've got lots of cuddle hormone going on! LOL!
