Checking In...

Hi Everybody,

Sorry to be so long in writing. Nothing much is going on with our adoption and lots of the things we're doing with AAI aren't really private blog-appropriate. =-)

Bright continues to do well. The biggest struggle we have is with sleep. He fights sleep like crazy, which he did not do two months ago. He can keep himself up for hours, but rather than going hyper like most kids, he does this whine/cry thing with his eyes half closed.

The last few days he has been fighting a cold and today it has hit full force. I don't know what the deal is but there is something going on with Bright's nose/throat area that makes him seem very closed up. He really struggles for breath when he's congested. So all night long he inhales through his mouth and when he exhales through his mouth this LOUD whiney sound comes out. He's not talking in his sleep. It's something to do with the congestion, but it is LOUD. Definitely haven't gotten enough sleep the last few days.

It's been a rainy few days, which makes it great temperature wise but more difficult to accomplish things.

It looks like I might be staying at the AAI House during my last week here. That should be exciting if it happens! I'm not too excited about going to more basic conditions (no AC or hot water) but it will be great to experience living in the same place our kids will spend several months.

Please continue to keep my health in your prayers (as well as Bright's). It makes it feel quadruple difficult to function here when you feel less than perfect. My cold is gone, but now I seem to be fighting a sinus infection--sinus headache the last two days that motrin isn't touching.

I guess that's about it from here. Promise to write if things get more exciting! LOL!

I just got the AAI newsletter and it named you as the resource person for the new Ghana program. How wonderful! Amazing how God just opens up new opportunities when we step out in faith. I haven't been keeping up with you blog too well and was sad to see Bright wasn't yet home. Looking forward to seeing pics of him home with you.

sounds exciting to live in that home though Anita. You'll have to keep us all posted on it :-)
